We’re constantly inspired by seeing our brides in their The Label wedding dresses. #LabelBride Madaline and Steven made quite the impact with their late summer wedding in Chaska, Minnesota. Not far from the Twin Cities, this woodland wedding was serene and simple. From the start of their love story, to their wedding toast, we’re excited to explore wedding elements we love.
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF A GOOD FIRST DATE?
We usually wouldn’t say your date being late is a good sign, but for Madaline and Steven the opposite is true. “After showing up almost an hour late to their first date, Steven wondered if Madaline would ever talk to him again, meanwhile Madaline knew she had found her soulmate.”
Their adventurous dates have taken them everywhere from Minneapolis sporting events to state parks and more. One furry friend that has been a constant both in their dating and wedding day is Steve. A steadfast companion and fashionable pup, Steve made a surprise appearance during their wedding wearing a classic bow tie dog collar.
WHAT ARE WEDDING COLORS FOR SEPTEMBER?
While your wedding color palette is ultimately personal preference, there are some fall wedding colors that have become increasingly popular. These autumn-inspired color palettes for fall weddings include rich shades of red, orange, magenta, and other jewel tones.
If you’re wondering how to choose wedding colors, we think basing your color selection off of the venue, dress, and overall vibe is always a good start. If you’re having an outdoor fall wedding, including hunter green wedding colors may be best, while an industrial indoor wedding could require more neutral wedding colors like copper and merlot.
In the case of Madaline and Steven’s wedding, we loved their soft wedding color scheme that included light blue, sage green, and white. Making sure their wedding colors didn’t overpower their natural setting and minimal decor, their romantic wedding colors added to the elevated feel of their elegant Minnesota wedding.
COWL NECK SLIP WEDDING DRESS
Much like their wedding colors, Madaline picked a simple slip wedding dress for her September nuptials. Though plain, this fitted satin slip wedding dress was sophisticated and had several eye-catching details. The gown’s cowl neckline was chic and the low back added to the modern bridal vibes of this minimal wedding dress.

Another unique detail was the long sweep train on this thin strap slip wedding dress. While many sheath wedding dresses have a shorter train, this bridal slip gown had a longer train that was ideal for effortless wedding photos.

HOW DO YOU INCORPORATE PEARLS AT A WEDDING?
For brides trying to dress up simple wedding dresses, bridal jewelry with pearls is always an easy pick. Some of Madaline’s pearl wedding pieces included ‘Harper Pearl Drop Earrings’ by Untamed Petals, a pearl embellished veil, and a pearl choker necklace.
Slipping into Steve Madden pearl slides before her outdoor ceremony, Madaline’s attention to detail with her coordinating wedding accessories paid off. Her simple silk wedding dress was a hit and her pearl wedding accessories were the best accent.
WHAT ARE GOOD WEDDING FINGER FOODS?
Not only were Madaline and Steven careful in selecting their wedding style and decor, but they also picked perfect wedding finger foods. With wedding snacks that included fried chicken sandwiches, pastel wedding cupcakes, and even a flower covered wedding cake, Madaline and Steven’s guests never grew hungry.
Topping off their wedding food with wedding drinks, Madaline and Steven posed beside their champagne tower during cocktail hour. Popping the bottle and drinking from it too, their glass champagne tower was set up in a field for fun photos and sips for all.
